My new pupu (appetizer) creation called, “Cigars At Crime Scene.” How’d I come upon that? Well in my test kitchen, I found 3, ready to expire Maui style hot dogs, the red casing ones. And I had leftover rice papers because a friend hired me to make him some Vietnamese style Spring Rolls. Anyway, I decided to wrap each hot dog with the rice wrappers, and fry them. I tried to fancy the presentation, but the Sriracha I was using somehow wasn’t holding right, it was pretty runny, so instead of a nice steady stream to drizzle like most chefs do, it came out like blood splatters. Hence the name of the dish, hey it worked.
